How Pro Fixit handles your information.

The short version

This website does not collect anything about you. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and stores nothing in your browser. Nothing you type into the request form is sent to Pro Fixit by this website.

When you press WhatsApp or Prepare email, the form writes your details into a message and hands it to your own WhatsApp or email app. You send it. Pro Fixit receives your information at that point — the same as if you had typed the message yourself.

What the request form actually does

The form runs entirely in your browser. There is no submit button that sends data to a server, because there is no server to send it to — no database, no form endpoint, no stored draft.

If you select photographs, they are not uploaded. The form counts them so your message can say how many there are; the files themselves are never read or transmitted by this website. If you want Pro Fixit to see them, attach them yourself in WhatsApp or your email app.

If you close the tab before sending, nothing you typed goes anywhere.

What Pro Fixit holds once you get in touch

When you send an enquiry by WhatsApp, email or telephone, Pro Fixit receives whatever you chose to include. Typically that is:

• —your name
• —your telephone number or email address
• —the property address or postcode where the work is needed
• —a description of the work, and any photographs you attach
• —any preferred date or time you gave

Why Pro Fixit is allowed to hold it

You contacted a trades business about work on a property, so the information is used to review the job, respond to you and, if it goes ahead, carry out the work. Under UK data protection law the basis for this is taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and Pro Fixit’s legitimate interest in answering enquiries about its own services.

Your information is not sold, rented, or used for marketing by anyone else.

Who else is involved

The message travels through whichever service you chose to send it with. If you use WhatsApp, that is WhatsApp Ireland Limited, part of Meta — their own privacy terms apply to the message in transit and to whatever WhatsApp keeps. If you use email, the same is true of your email provider. Pro Fixit does not control either of them, and you can always telephone instead.

Serving these web pages produces ordinary server logs, which typically include your IP address, the page requested and the time. Those logs exist to keep the site running and secure, not to profile you.

Your rights

You can ask Pro Fixit what information it holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to how it is being used. Ask by telephone or email using the contact details on this site and say what you would like done.

If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Children

This site is aimed at people arranging work on a property. It is not directed at children and Pro Fixit does not knowingly collect information about them.

Changes to this notice

If how Pro Fixit handles your information changes — for example if analytics is added to this site, or an online booking system starts storing enquiries — this notice will be updated before that change goes live, and the date at the top will change with it.
